We decided to write this book one year after we started a series of Skype “conversations” based on our mutual interest in art and its political or economic manipulation.
Gentrificación X focuses mainly on two case studies, Barcelona and Rotterdam, where we were based while chatting. They share geographical, as both are important port cities, and phenomenological aspects as far as artists and the events they organise are concerned. Moreover, as we will see, the urban regeneration plans do not always favour the citizens.
